Admissions & State Requirements
Getting started is straightforward. Acceptance requirements include:

- SSN
- HS Diploma or Equivalency or Higher Education (Wonderlic OK, required before the last class)
- Immunizations or Declination
Minimum age: Must be at least 17 years of age (applicants under 18 require written permission from a parent or legal guardian).
State exam requirements: 1 Exam—The Radiation Health & Safety (RHS) exam administered by DANB. We cover the cost.
Radiography: Required in Arizona for Dental Assistants to hold a radiography certification. RHS Exam – Radiation Health & Safety (Administered by DANB—we cover the cost).
Credentials on completion:
- “Certificate of Completion”
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification—Certified through the American Heart Association
Background check guidance: As part of our program, students apply for and take the RHS exam administered by the Dental Assistant National Board (DANB). Prospective students with a felony will need to contact DANB to inquire about eligibility to take the RHS exam. Taking and passing the RHS exam in Arizona is required to perform radiography, but is not required to take our program. If DANB determines a student is not eligible due to a felony, the student may still complete our program without the RHS exam. Upon graduation, they earn the title of Dental Assistant but cannot perform radiography duties or hold the title of Radiation Health and Safety approved dental assistant.
